Giovanni Berluti receives Best Presentation Award at Green IUPAC 2026
We are proud to share that Giovanni Berluti, PhD researcher at POLYKEY, received the Award for Best Presentation at Green IUPAC 2026 in Lisbon.
Giovanni presented his research on the use of FDCA-based bis-carbonates as key synthons for the synthesis of non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs) for coating applications. His work explores new approaches to developing more sustainable polymer materials and coatings based on renewable carbon sources.
The conference brought together researchers, innovators and industry professionals working in green and sustainable chemistry, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss new research and build collaborations around more sustainable chemical and polymer technologies.
Green IUPAC 2026 was also an important opportunity for Giovanni to share his research with the international scientific community and connect with researchers working on sustainable materials, polymer chemistry and circular chemistry.
Giovanni’s research is part of the D-CARBONIZE MSCA Doctoral Network, a European research and training network focused on developing sustainable and circular polymers from renewable carbon resources. The network explores the conversion of biocarbon and CO₂ into new monomers and polymers, alongside innovative approaches to polymer recycling and circularity.
Congratulations to Giovanni on this well-deserved recognition!
